Information and Application

The Paradise Lake Association is a community of people interested in the protection and enjoyment of Paradise Lake (aka Carp Lake). The association supports activities including, water quality protection, fish management, endangered species protection, land use management, river care, community public relations, fundraising and education.

In accordance with these goals and interests the association is offering a one-year, $1000.00 scholarship. The scholarship is available to a graduating high school senior. Payment will be sent once a copy of grade transcripts from the first college marking period are received at the below address.

The applicant must intend to prepare for a career in any field, with extra consideration given to the choice of an environmental or ecological field. Because of the association’s interest in water quality, extra credit will be given to applicants pursuing courses of study directly related to that goal. The money may be used for any educational expenses.

Criteria for selection include:
A. Graduation in 2025 from Pellston or Mackinaw City High School or from another high school or home study course by a Carp Lake township resident.
B. A copy of acceptance in an institution of higher learning provided with application.
C. Demonstration of good citizenship and sound educational goals as evidenced in the required essay and letter of recommendation from a teacher or employer.

Completed applications, including the essay, letter of recommendation and copy of college acceptance are due back to Scholarship, Angie Berry, President - Paradise Lake Association, P.O. Box 2, Carp Lake, MI 49718 by April 30, 2025.
